Halloween 2016 home decor trends

If you love decorating your home, for sure you're just like me: you can't really wait until the next occasion to deck your house in the spirit of the holiday! I never actually celebrated Halloween, because it's not in the European culture, but I love all the decorations that come with it. I consider it a perfect excuse to change a bit the look of my home and have a some fun!

So, whether you are organizing a Halloween party or it's just the wish for a seasonal change, here are this year's Halloween trends, that I observed in the decor-stores.

Trend 1. Faux, shiny and painted pumpkins

It's fun to buy a real pumpkin, that you can eventually carve together with your friends or family, but it won't last forever and it doesn't look too elegant, either. So, if you're searching for a more stylish idea or for a decoration which you can use each year, than a fake pumpkin it's perfect for you. This year, it seems that faux glittering pumpkins are a must. You can find them in almost all decorations stores and they add a touch of glamour to your Halloween-themed decor.  If you like the idea, but still can't find one to buy, you can paint a simple plastic or a real one in gold, silver or bronze.

Trend 2. Halloween in Bordeaux colour

Because Bordeaux it's a trendy colour this autumn, it's also one of this Halloween's favourites. You will easily find Bordeaux decorations in the local interior design stores and you can match this warm colour with white, mustard-yellow and wooden elements.

Trend 3. Halloween in White and Orange

The traditional Halloween decorations are in black and orange, but this year it seems like white and orange is the better combination. It's true, this mix of colours isn't that dark and spooky anymore, but it suits a home that likes the light and the warmth.
